Following President Muhammadu Buhari's cessation of movement order in Lagos, Ogun and the FCT Abuja, geared towards halting further spread of the coronavirus, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi,  has ordered an immediate shutdown of Driver's License  database in Abuja.

In a statement by the Corps Public Education  Officer,  Bisi Kazeem, the measure is aimed at sustaining existing  efforts by the Federal Government  to curb further spread of the pandemic.

According to the Statement, the shutdown of the FRSC database means that Drivers License Centres will not be able to process licenses for applicants  nationwide.

The Corps Public Education Officer, however, said applicants could go through the By-pas mode to process the license which will be delivered after the movement restriction order has elapsed.

The by-pass option is the online processing of the drivers licence without physical presence of the applicant at the Driver's License Centres.
